Man in the Mountain
Biography
The cover art & website for The Haiti Projekt, was designed by Man In The Mountain.
Man In The Mountain is NW Chicago area progressive artist, Martin Kornick. Offering a wide range of personalized "boutique" web & print design services for the music/entertainment industry as well as small to mid-sized businesses.
Martin is a 30 year design veteran, having worked in publishing, advertising, and printing industries. Martin's first loves are progressive rock & album cover artwork. His own work has graced the covers for such artists as Keith Emerson Band, Neal Morse, Transatlantic, Spock's Beard, Ajalon, Pinnacle, and more. A self taught artist, Martin grew up admiring the amazing album cover’s of the 70’s from RUSH to Pink Floyd, which became the template of inspiration for his modern-day work. Martin’s love for prog rock started at a young age, upon hearing RUSH play 2112 – which was an awakening of fantastic music with sci-fi imagery. As the rise of progressive rock became prominent on the internet, Martin began to network through chat forums to reach the people who made the music which fired his imagination.
Keith Emerson wrote of Martin's work, "During my illustrious career as a musician I have had the opportunity to have worked with the worlds best artists such as Hipgnosis, William Neal and Giger to enhance the music I have written over the last 50 years and for them to embrace it visually within their realm. Man In The Mountain, who did the artwork on my latest album, “Keith Emerson Featuring Marc Bonilla”, is a visionary that, like the above artists, works from his heart and soul. He realized in his artistry the essence of my music. – Keith Emerson"
